Battening for wood panels or plasterboard

In order to secure wood panelling or build internal walls of plasterboard, you will need a battening layer made of wooden slats.

How to proceed:

Use a wood drill bit to drill holes through the wooden slats, 50cm to 70cm apart.

Align the slat and mark on the wall the location of the first hole.

Make sure that there are no cables or pipes behind the location where you plan to drill. For this purpose we recommend using themetal finder from BOSCH.

Use the masonry drill bit to drill. If your wall is made of concrete, you can switch on the impact mechanism.

Remove the dust from the holes with avacuum cleaner (a dust blower or simply by blowing). Be careful to avoid getting dust in your eyes.

Insert the fixing and tap lightly with a hammer to make sure that the fixing is properly seated in the hole. Secure and align the slat.

You can now drill the remaining holes directly through the slats and into the wall

Drive home the fixing with the hammer.

Equipment required:

To drill in masonry, you'll need your Bosch impact drill. In addition: For each masonry and wood drill bits (diameter 6 to 8 mm), fixings (diameter 6 to 8 mm), spirit level, and hammer
