Chair restoration

When chairs look worn down and have small chips, they do not have to be just thrown away. The BOSCH Delta Sander makes a good job of restoration.

Proceed as follows:

First of all, the old paint has to be removed. Stick the white:Paint sanding sheet with grit of 60 onto the sanding plate of your BOSCH Delta Sander and sand the chair down.

After sanding, you can repair damaged areas. Broken furniture parts should be replaced, cracks and chips repaired with filler. If you want to paint the chair afterwards, you can use synthetic-resin filler for repairing. If the wood is to remain visible, use wood putty or filler in the appropriate tinge. You can easily make the wood putty yourself. You just have to mix the collected sanding dust with a fluid bonding material on cellulose basis.

Once the filler has hardened, go over it again with the BOSCH Delta Sander.

Then replace the white:Paint sanding sheet with the red:Wood sanding sheet with grit of 180 for softwood and 120 for hardwood. Now sand the entire chair.

After this, you can mount the additional parts such as the support strip for the seat. Once you have done this, seal the surface of the chair. Depending on your taste, you have the choice between varnish, paint or wax.
