Laser beam for precise cuts:
New jigsaws PST 650 L and PST 680 EL from Bosch
Air-blower function for clear view of where the saw will cut
Saw blade storage compartment in the machine

The new jigsaws PST 650 L and PST 680 EL for DIY enthusiasts offer practical help for precise, straight cuts. A laser beam on the machines shows where the saw will cut. If the user lines up the laser beam flush with the marked cutting line when sawing, the saw cuts exactly along the mark. If required, the laser beam can be easily readjusted at the centering aid, for example if the saw blade thickness changes. The mains-powered laser is assigned to application category two, meaning that the DIY enthusiast can also work without protective goggles.

The new machines from the inventor of the jigsaw weigh just 1.8 kilograms and have other practical features. At the push of a button, the user can activate the air-blower function to blow the chips away from his view of where the saw will cut. The saw blade storage compartment situated in the foot of the machine can be used to store up to four standard saw blades, which are then quickly within reach the next time they are required.

The tool quick-change system SDS that is used on all Bosch jigsaws also saves time: to change the saw blade, all you have to do is throw a lever, then the blade falls out of the machine on its own. The new blade is simply inserted into the holder and then the jigsaw is ready for use again.

A perspex window prevents anybody from touching the saw blade unintentionally. The user can connect a workshop or household vacuum cleaner to the rear of the jigsaw, which collects the sawing chips.

The new machine housing in conjunction with the rubber-coated handle allows for vibration-free and non-tiring work. The on/off switch is integrated into the handle. It also has a switch-on lock, which prevents the machine from being switched on unintentionally. A particularly practical feature is that the user can operate the switch on both sides using his thumb – making the machine equally suitable for right-handers and left-handers. The metal sole plate can be easily slid forwards or backwards and can also be set to different angles. A notch on the front of the sole plate serves as a pilot.

The PST 680 EL offers an additional function: its electronics allow the user control the stroke rate and, therefore, the sawing speed at the accelerator switch. The powerful 500-watt motor fitted in both machines ensures fast sawing progress in all materials, on straight lines and in curves as well as for plunge cuts and miter cuts. The maximum cutting depths are 68 millimeters in wood, ten millimeters in aluminum and four millimeters in steel.
