Sanding and Sanding Functions

The BOSCH Multifunction Sander is excellently suited to furniture manufacture and restoration. In principle, the BOSCH Multifunction Sander combines the advantages of the small and versatile delta sander with the advantages of the larger and more powerful orbital sander. You can get into every corner with the front, triangular sanding plate. Thanks to its trapezoidal extension, the BOSCH Multifunction Sander also takes care of larger surfaces effortlessly. Thanks to its ergonomically-shaped handle, this tool sits comfortably in your hand and is also easy to operate due to its low weight. This allows you to hold the work piece in place with your other hand. This provides safety when working.

If things should get a bit tight, the BOSCH Multifunction Sander shows its worth: you can get into the tightest gaps with the louvre sanding attachment , not only on window shutters. The flat sanding finger also fits into narrow gaps and if you attach the oval sanding finger , you can sand any curve too.

Depending on what you want to sand, you will need the appropriate sanding paper, also called coated abrasive. Simply stick it onto the velcro-type sanding plate. As a rule, you should begin sanding using a coarse grit and then select a finer grit for each sanding run. As a rule of thumb, you should select a grit that is twice as fine for every subsequent work step. Example: grit sequence 40 80 120. The sanding sheets on the multifunction sander for the front, triangular part and the rear, trapezoidal part should have the same grit in order to achieve an optimum result. For this reason, BOSCH sells both sanding sheets in a combi pack. This ensures that you always have the right sanding paper at hand.

The BOSCH Multifunction Sander has been developed especially for beginners with high requirements and is very easy to operate. Switch on the main switch on the front top of the sander. Guide the tool in slow, constant motions in the direction of the grain over the surface. You will notice how easy it is.

The Multifunction Sander from BOSCH has a BOSCH Micro-Filter System. This ensures that around 70 percent of the dust that you could otherwise breathe in or that would impair your view of the work piece lands in the filter box. This box can be conveniently removed and emptied by pressing the buttons on each side. If you want to remove a large amount of material on large surfaces, simply connect your BOSCH Multifunction Sander to a BOSCH All-Purpose Vacuum or a conventional household vacuum cleaner.
