If you want to sand down wood or wooden materials, use red:Wood sanding sheets. For paint, varnish, filler and roughcast, use white:Paint sanding sheets. When sanding, start with a coarse grit of, for example, 40. As a rule of thumb, you should select a grit that is twice as fine for every subsequent work step. Example: grit sequence 60
120 240.
In addition to sanding sheets, there are also polishing fleeces. They consist of a loose woven fabric made of plastic fibres, into which the coated abrasive is incorporated. Use polishing fleeces with a medium to coarse grit for coarse dirt, but also for removing rust and for structuring. It is better to work on painted surfaces using polishing fleeces with a finer grit. |
