The sky is the limit

The Neukölln district of Berlin is known for its diverse culture, lively bar and club scene, and the park on the former Tempelhofer Feld airport site. However, a new landmark for the area and the whole of Berlin is currently under construction: the “Estrel Tower.” This will be a 176-meter-high building complex with a hotel, co-working space, gallery, restaurant, and bar. The skyscraper’s shell was built by the construction company “Anes Bau” – with the help of Bosch power tools.
A project of superlatives
Construction manager Taylan Karakaya stands high up on the shell of the Estrel Tower and admires the view over Sonnenallee and the whole of Neukölln. The tower rises 176 meters and 45 floors into the sky, making it Berlin’s tallest non-technical building. This is the first time that the German capital has broken the magic barrier of 150 meters, above which a building is considered a skyscraper. “A skyscraper like this is not just a landmark, but also a major technical challenge,” says Karakaya, who was responsible for the building shell alongside Anes Bau.

This concerns the complex logistics as well as the materials and tools for demanding applications on the construction site. Concrete, for example, was supplied by a dedicated concrete mixing plant on the construction site. During peak times up to 600 associates from 60 trades were at work. One of the biggest challenges for Anes Bau was to successfully implement the enormous project within the set time frame and with limited resources. Robust, reliable, and powerful tools are essential for this. “We process really high-quality concrete here,” explains his colleague Frank Barthel. “We also need high-quality machines and tools for this – drill bits, angle grinders, and impact wrenches. Bosch has supplied us with all the necessary power tools and we are very satisfied.”

High-performance tools for demanding applications
The direct-to-user team at Power Tools carefully selected the tools for Anes Bau to ensure they met the requirements of the large-scale project. The overarching aim was to ensure smooth processes on the construction site and to make individual work steps, such as setting concrete screws, more efficient. The holistic consulting approach also included accessories, for example the Plus 7X drill bits from the Expert line for quickly drilling reinforcement connections. “We made sure that the construction workers always had the very best tools at their disposal. We worked closely with site management to make sure that everything ran smoothly,” says Bastian Günther, Sales Germany Key Users at Bosch Power Tools.

Customer feedback as a driver for continuous optimization

Important success factors for such large-scale projects include in-depth personal exchanges with customers as well as their feedback – not only for key user managers and sales, but also for related operating units such as quality management, marketing, and aftersales, which can gain new insights in this way. “When the feedback is as positive as it is for Anes Bau, this provides extra motivation for everyone involved. It’s a great feeling to see our customers on large construction sites like the Estrel Tower with blue tools,” says Bastian happily. The direct-to-user team is continuously working on further developing processes for regular customer contact and improving resource efficiency and team management, for example.
The building shell is finished!
Anes Bau and Power Tools reached an important milestone with the topping-out ceremony at the beginning of March: The building shell is finished! Once completed, the tower’s 45 floors will house a hotel, furnished long-term apartments, office space, event rooms, and luxury facilities such as a sky bar. The high-rise building is due to open in mid-2026 and will then tower over Neukölln and the whole of Berlin as a new landmark.

Summary
A new landmark is rising in Berlin-Neukölln with the 176-meter-tall Estrel Tower. The shell of Berlin's tallest non-technical building was constructed by Anes Bau using Bosch power tools. The demanding construction required robust and high-performance tools, which Bosch specifically selected for the project. Upon completion in mid-2026, the Estrel Tower will shape Berlin's skyline.
