Sanding down old window casements and frames

Do you want to give your window casements and frames a new coat of paint? The old paint is unsightly in parts and worn down in various places? The BOSCH Compact Belt Sander is ideally suited to this application.

Proceed as follows:

Remove the window casement from the frame.

Cover the window sills and the floor with packing paper or plastic sheets.

Place the window casement on two work trestles.

First of all, sand the rebates on the window casement right into the corners using the BOSCH Compact Belt Sander. It is irrelevant in which direction you sand. You can sand both towards yourself and away from yourself. If the sanding belt becomes clogged up with paint, you can lay the belt down in the opposite running direction, allowing you to make full use of the belt. Thanks to a special belt attachment system, it is not necessary to sand in any particular direction. First of all, sand using a belt with a grit of 60 and then perform fine sanding with a grit of 120 or 240.

After sanding with the BOSCH Compact Belt Sander, you can then resand by hand. The windows and frames are now ready for a new coat of paint.
