To work with BOSCH Rotary Hammers, you need special
drill bits with SDS-plus shanks. As an alternative, the
hammers can also be equipped with keyless chucks, which
also hold conventional drill bits with straight shanks.
The best-known drill bits are named twist drill bits
after their appearance and shape. A distinction is made
between HSS (High Speed Steel) drill bits and masonry
bits. HSS drill bits of type W (soft) are used for soft
materials such as wood, plastic, aluminium, steel and
other hard materials, are worked on with HSS drill bits of
type N (normal) or H (hard). Masonry bits have a
tungsten-carbide plate on their tips and are used for
impact drilling. You will find the appropriate bits for
your BOSCH Rotary Hammer at specialist dealers or in DIY
superstores. |
